Panoramas of the World

Aventin (Rome)

This panorama was taken from the edge of the Parco Savello in Rome. Because of its orange trees it is also called Parco degli Aranci.

Saint Dominikus, the founder of the Dominican order, brought the trees from Spain in the 13th century. The wall around the park was once part of the powerful fortress of the Savelli family. The church Santa Sabina is also recognizable in this photo.
