Panoramas of the World

Westminster Bridge

From this bridge you may see the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, and the London Eye (Ferris wheel). Big Ben, with its height of nearly 100 meters, and its large clock, is recognized from a far distance. The bell in the tower weighs about 13 tons.

The parliament building is where the House of Lords and House of Commons are located. The building has a long history, which even stretches back into the 11th century. Originally, here is where the old Palace of Westminster was located. It burned down in 1834, however. Then the new Palace of Westminster was built, which is seen on the panorama photo.

The Ferris wheel, known to residents as the “London Eye,” is currently the highest Ferris wheel in Europe, standing at height og 135.36 meters. Once it was even the highest wheel in the world. It is owned by the airline British Airways. Every day, several thousand people look down on London this way.
