Panoramas of the World

Palace Garden of
Charlottenburg II (Berlin)

The Palace Garden in Charlottenburg is a very popular destination throughout the year. In winter the central pond is used by ice skaters.

The park was designed in 1697 as a French baroque garden by the Le Nótre student Siméon Godeau with Broderie-Parterre and a well system. In the 18th Century the garden got its English look. Peter Joseph Lenné continued this development in 1819 - there was not much remaining from the baroque buildings. In World War II, large parts of the park were destroyed and restored starting in 1950. In the spring of 2001, the Broderie-Parterre was reconstructed as it had originally been. There is an additionalpanoramic picture from the park.
